Plain-English summary: Studdely reads your Canvas assignment data inside your own browser, sends only the assignment text to our AI provider to generate a breakdown, and stores your account info on our servers. We don't sell your data. We don't show ads. Studdely is for students 13 and older — see Section 8 for our full age policy.

1. Information we collect

• Account information: your email address and authentication details.
• Subscription information: your plan and billing status (processed by Stripe — we never see your full card number).
• Assignment data: the title, description, due date, and related metadata of assignments visible in your own logged-in Canvas account.
• Usage data: which features you use, so we can improve the product.

2. How we use it

To provide the service, generate your study plan, process payments, and improve estimate accuracy. We never use your personal data to train any AI model. Assignment text sent to our AI provider for analysis is not used to train their models either, under our agreement with them.

3. Who we share it with

• Our AI provider — processes assignment text to generate breakdowns.
• Stripe — processes payments.
• Supabase — hosts our database (located in the United States).

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with advertisers.

4. Anonymized data

We keep an anonymized, aggregated dataset of how long different types of assignments actually take students to complete, used to improve time estimates for everyone. This dataset contains no name, email, or any information that identifies you personally — it cannot be traced back to any individual student, even with full access to our systems.

5. Data retention

Account data is kept while your account is active. Cached assignment breakdowns are automatically deleted after 7 days. You can request deletion of your account and data at any time.

6. Your rights

You can access, correct, or delete your data, or export it, by contacting us. California residents have additional rights under the CCPA, including the right to opt out of any data sale — which doesn't apply here since we don't sell data.

7. Security

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. No system is perfectly secure, and we can't guarantee against all unauthorized access, but we follow industry-standard practices throughout.

8. Eligibility and age requirements

Studdely is built for high school and college students. You must be at least 13 years old to create a Studdely account. If you are between 13 and 17, you confirm that you have a parent or guardian's permission to use Studdely. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected information from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a child under 13 is using Studdely, please contact us at the email below.

9. Changes to this policy

We'll notify you by email or in-product notice at least 30 days before any material change takes effect.
